Hello all, and welcome.
On the local level, Jen and I are organizing 2 events here in Massachusetts. One will be a fundraising event happening within the next 2 weeks. Jen and some of her friends will be playing a show at The Crows Nest to raise funds for the big event which will happen in late September. Starting Monday, she and I will be approaching local businesses to ask for sponsorships. We are already receiving inquiries from vendors who wish to participate. Either Saturday or Monday, Jen and I are gonna go down to the green, draw up a map, and figure out how many vendor spots we need to fill. Potential vendors: please be patient and don't forget about us. We have a LOT of organizing to do. Jen has more experience at this than I do, as well as a lot more connections. This is a learning experience for me.
I encourage you all to try and organize events in your area. It doesn't have to be a big event, it could even be a house party or barbecue. The main focus is to share information and wake people up.
We will be working on pamphlets, etc to distribute, and if you have any ideas or are willing to take the initiative and develop something yourself, DO IT! Keep us updated!
Thanks to everyone who has shown interest and helped out. It's only day 3 of this project and it is growing steadily. We need more funds, but we are doing everything we can to make that happen.
I will be making t shirts starting this weekend that should be ready by next week, so keep an eye out!
